Air Source Heat Pumps, Grimsby, Midlands and Lincolnshire
Based in Grimsby, Coolzone Solutions are one of the leading specialists of Air Source Heat Pumps in the Midlands and Lincolnshire.
Why are air source pumps good for your home? Air Source Heat pumps are an environmentally friendly alternative to heating your house, compared to traditional gas & oil boilers. Heat Pumps have been growing in popularity in recent years, as energy costs keep rising year on year especially in rural areas where connecting homes up to local gas mains isn't nearly as easy as it is in built-up urban cities. The three types of Air Source heat pump installed by CoolZone Solutions are Air-to-Air Heat Pump (normal air conditioning unit), Air-to-Water Heat Pump and a Thermodynamic Heat Pump
An Air source heat pump, ( Air-to-Water Heat Pump) absorbs heat from the outside air, this heat can then be used to heat radiators, under floor heating systems, or warm air convectors and hot water in your home.
An air source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. It can convert heat from the air even when the temperature is as low as -15° C. Heat pumps have some impact on the environment as they need electricity to run, however the heat they extract from the environment is constantly being renewed naturally. This energy is then effectively ‘recycled’ through an internal compressor, which extracts the heat and then pumps it into your home pipe network heating your home.
But is a heat pump worth the investment?
That depends on the size of your property and the type of heat pump system you choose, but to help you make an informed decision you should consult our heat pump engineers.
The benefits of air source heat pumps
- Lower fuel bills, especially if you are replacing conventional electric heating
- potential income through the UK government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
- lower home carbon emissions, depending on which fuel you are replacing
- no fuel deliveries needed
- can heat your home as well as your water
- minimal maintenance required
- can be easier to install than a ground source heat pump.
Unlike gas and oil boilers, heat pumps deliver heat at lower temperatures over much longer periods. During the winter they may need to be on constantly to heat your home efficiently. You will also notice that radiators won't feel as hot to the touch as they might do when you are using a gas or oil boiler, however air source heat pumps are able to heat up water to 55 degrees centigrade .
Air-to-Water Heat pumps work either in conjunction with your existing boiler and water cylinder, so there is no need to replace the existing system, or if the boiler is due for an upgrade considering replacing it with a more modern heat pump system. Our heat pump engineers will have a look at the existing heating system and then recommend a system which will benefit your home.
